Our Services
- We are fully qualified to carry out Domestic Building Energy Rating (BER) Assessments and their associated Certification. Please note that since the 1st of January 2009, all existing and new dwellings require a Domestic BER Certificate before they can be sold or rented. In addition, please note that since the 8th of June 2010, the SEAI require that a Domestic BER Assessment is carried out on all dwellings after Home Energy Saving (HES) scheme grant improvement works have been completed.
- We are fully qualified to carry out Commercial Building Energy Rating (BER) Assessments and their associated Certification. These energy ratings are also called Non-domestic BERs. Please note that since the 1st of January 2009, all existing and new commercial buildings require a Non-domestic BER Certificate before they can be sold or leased. In addition, it should be noted that a new Commercial BER is required where “material alterations” to a premises have taken place.
- We can provide a detailed Dwelling Energy Audit Report for your house which will outline very specific deficiencies in the energy efficiency of your home, and which will also advise on suggested improvements. This service is useful if you are looking to reduce your yearly spending on heating / lighting, and if you are interested in making your home more environmentally friendly. We produce a document in plain English that is tailored specifically for your house, rather than the more generic document which the BER software produces.
- We are qualified to carry out Air Tightness Testing and report on the Air Permeability of new and existing dwellings, using the “Fan Pressurisation Method” (as detailed in IS EN 13829: 2000). Please note that according to the latest version of the Irish Building Regulations, as stipulated in Technical Guidance Document L, new dwellings are now required to pass an air tightness test (with some specific exceptions).

- Building in accordance with current building regulations in Ireland is estimated to achieve an equivalent energy
usage value of 100kWh/m2/yr (in optimum conditions), this is a factor of approximately 6xtimes worse than the international passive house standard. We can assist in the design and construction of a Passive House, which is a house that is built to a very high standard such that all heat losses and energy consumption are aggressively minimised as much as possible. These homes are at the cutting-edge of environmentally friendlydesign and construction.
- If required, we can give advice in terms of where to procure the application forms for the SEAI’s Home Energy Saving (HES) Scheme Grants, and also for their Green Homes Scheme (GHS) Grants. However, please note that BER Assessors are now prohibited from filling these forms in on behalf of the homeowner.
- SEAI Solar Panel Installer
- SEAI Registered Solar Panel Installer under the Greener Homes Scheme (GHS).
- Approved Solar Panel Installer under the Kingspan Solar Accredited Installer Scheme (KSAIS).
- Please note that according to the latest version of the Irish Building Regulations, as stipulated in Technical Guidance Document L, new dwellings are now required to achieve a minimum of 10KWh/m2/yr contribution to domestic energy usage from renewable technologies (and/or some alternative options). The installation of an appropriately designed Solar Panel system will achieve, or exceed this minimum requirement.
- Furthermore, the installation of Solar Panels on your roof will greatly assist your dwelling in achieving a better BER, and will also save you money in heating your domestic hot water (especially during the summer months).
